Satesh Bidaisee is a professor and chair of large animal medicine and surgery and associate dean for academic performance and assessment at St. George’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine. As an educator, Dr. Bidaisee is involved in content areas of Veterinary Public Health, Biosecurity, Food Safety and Meat Hygiene and Transboundary Diseases. As a research investigator, Dr. Bidaisee supports the pursuit of the “One Health” concept connecting human health with that of animals and the environment. Dr. Bidaisee’s research projects have covered topics including human and wildlife conflict, domestic and wildlife interactions and the impact of climate on the health of both human and animals. He is board certified by the U.S. National Board of Public Health Examiners and holds fellowships to the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH), Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (FRSTMH), the International Society on Infectious Diseases, and the Society of Biology.
Dr. Bidaisee has previously held positions at the University of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of the West Indies, his Master of Science in Public Health degree from St. George’s University, and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
