    Dr. Melinda J. Wilkerson is a Professor in the Department of Pathobiology, where she teaches courses in veterinary clinical pathology and pathology. Her research interests focus on clinical pathology, hematopoietic neoplasia, development of novel serological and molecular diagnostic tests, and host agent interactions. Dr. Wilkerson’s current research projects include studies on vector-borne diseases in dogs in Grenada.

    Prior to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Wilkerson was a medical technologist at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy from Washington State University. Dr. Wilkerson is board certified in veterinary anatomic and clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. She is also a member of the American Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists.
