    Dr. Hamaseh Tayari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine.

    She graduated from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2012 with a thesis on epidural anaesthesia. Following graduation, she received a grant to undertake a PhD research project on ultrasound-guided locoregional anaesthesia in both small and large animals, which she successfully defended in 2016 at the same university. During her PhD, she also collaborated with the Veterinary Anaesthesia team at the University of Bern (Switzerland).

    In 2015, Dr. Tayari moved to the United Kingdom, where she completed a three-year residency in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia at the University of Glasgow’s College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, as part of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) training programme. She also earned a Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVetMed), awarded in 2021.

    Dr. Tayari has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications in the field of veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia. Her research interests include ultrasound-guided locoregional anaesthesia, pain management, mechanical ventilation, and well-being and resilience in veterinary medicine.

    In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr. Tayari is research-driven and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
