My name is Dr. Gabrielle Beckford; I completed my DVM in 2018 at the University of the West Indies and completed a Large Animal Medicine Rotating Internship at Tuskegee University, AL, USA in June 2022. I am originally from Kingston, Jamaica and graduated from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad in 2018. I have mostly gained experience in equine medicine, on Jamaican stud farms and the horse racing track. On occasion, I would do small animal cases and do volunteer work for other large animal species whilst in Jamaica. I strive to influence improvements in animal welfare across the Caribbean and the diaspora.
Personal Background and Interests:
I enjoy mentoring young people and helping them realize their dreams. I like photography and enjoy spending time in nature. I enjoy traveling, adventure and a good thrill. I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane a few thousand feet above ground.
