    Biography

    Terrisha Walcott-Pierre, MPH, BSc, is a public health professional and researcher with a background in environmental and occupational health, microbiology, and biology. She holds a Master of Public Health from St. George’s University, where she was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society of Public Health and named to the Dean’s List. Her career has spanned teaching, laboratory research, and applied public health, with expertise in water quality monitoring, food safety testing, and clinical microbiology.

    Her research interests center on the intersections of environment and health, particularly water resources management, wastewater treatment, food safety, climate change, and community health resilience. She has presented her work at international forums, including the American Public Health Association and the Delta Omega Honorary Society annual meetings. Beyond academia, she has contributed as a rapporteur and project lead on regional initiatives in wastewater management, agricultural development, and disaster risk reduction, with a focus on sustainability and resilience in the Caribbean.

    Walcott-Pierre is also dedicated to education, having served as a university demonstrator, instructor, and mentor, and is committed to supporting future public health and science professionals. Her ongoing work emphasizes community engagement, applied research, and translating science into policy and practice for small island states.
